The “Quilting for Christ” ladies group was started in November 2014 by Joanie Chapman. Eight ladies came with their machines and material and started sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief (LWR). The quilts need to measure 60”X80” and will be used as warm bedding, simple tents, or floor coverings. This is our way of expressing our love and warmth to our neighbors in need. In 2023, we were able to sew and send 81 quilts through Lutheran World Relief! Today, an average of 300,000 quilts have been given worldwide each year to LWR.

The ladies group meets every Thursday at 9:00 am and welcomes new members to help cut material, lay out quilt squares, sew the quilts, or tie the quilt tops.
