We would like to invite you to get to know us. It is our hope that the pictures provided below will shed some light onto our life together at St. John Lutheran Church. You may find that our use of ceremony, vestments, and decorum differs from the majority of those in mainline Protestantism, and even some Lutherans. The ceremonies we observe, the vestments we use, and the reverence shown in our worship have historic roots that go back to the time of Martin Luther himself. All of these extra ceremonies are enjoyed in Christian freedom, for the sake of good order, and for teaching,

“Our churches teach that ceremonies ought to be observed that may be observed without sin. Also, ceremonies and other practices that are profitable for tranquility and good order in the Church (in particular, holy days, festivals, and the like) ought to be observed.”
